What is Bass Boosting?
Bass boosting amplifies the low-frequency range of a song — typically 40-100 Hz — to make the bass line, kick drums, and sub-bass hit harder. It's popular for hip-hop, trap, EDM, and anyone who wants their music to thump through headphones, AirPods, or a car stereo system.
Our bass booster uses a multi-band EQ with harmonic enhancement and a built-in limiter to increase bass in any song without clipping or distortion. A harmonic exciter generates psychoacoustic bass that's audible even on phone speakers, which can't physically reproduce deep frequencies. Pick a preset or dial in the exact amount of gain you want, preview the result, and export as a 320 kbps MP3. Everything runs in your browser — your files never leave your device.
How to Boost Bass in a Song
- Upload your audio — drop an MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, or M4A file (up to 50 MB).
- Choose boost level — pick Mild (6 dB), Medium (12 dB), Extreme (18 dB), or Mobile for phone speakers. Use the slider for precise control.
- Preview and export — hit play to hear the bass boost live, then export as a 320 kbps MP3.
Best For
Hip-hop and trap tracks that need more sub-bass punch. EDM and house music for bigger drops. Pop songs that sound flat on small speakers. Car audio systems where you want the low end to shake the seats. Any track you want to feel, not just hear.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will bass boosting cause distortion?
Not with our tool. We use a dynamics compressor as a limiter after the bass filter, so even at extreme boost levels the output stays clean. The limiter catches peaks before they clip.
What's the difference between Mild, Medium, Extreme, and Mobile?
Mild adds 6 dB of bass — a subtle warmth you'll feel on good headphones. Medium (12 dB) is the sweet spot for most genres. Extreme (18 dB) is for bass-heavy music where you want the low end to dominate. Mobile uses harmonic enhancement to make bass audible on phone speakers.
What frequency does it boost?
The peaking EQ is centered at 60 Hz by default — targeting kick drums and sub-bass. A low-shelf at 150 Hz adds warmth on top. You can adjust the center frequency from 40 to 100 Hz in advanced settings.
Why can't I hear bass on my phone?
Phone speakers can't physically reproduce deep bass below 100 Hz. Our tool uses harmonic enhancement to create the perception of bass through higher frequencies that your speaker can play. On mobile devices, the Mobile preset is selected automatically for best results.
What audio formats are supported?
MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, M4A, AAC, and WebM. The output is always a 320 kbps MP3 file.
Is my audio uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens locally in your browser using the Web Audio API. Your files never leave your device.
How good is the audio processing quality?
We use the same techniques found in professional audio software: convolution reverb with real impulse responses, phase vocoder time-stretching, HRTF-based spatial audio, EBU R128 peak limiting, and LUFS loudness normalization. What you hear in the preview is exactly what you get in the export — we guarantee preview/export parity across every tool.
